Privacy Policy

• Photos you upload and the portraits made from them.
• A random visitor ID stored in your browser, which links your previews, credits and orders without an account.
• Your email address, if you give it to save your portraits or join our list.
• Order details: your name, email, optional phone number, shipping address, and what you ordered.
• Payment status. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Usage information: the pages you visit, the site or ad that brought you here (such as the referring website, campaign tags and ad click IDs), and the time of each visit. We use this to understand which pages and ads work. We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors use pages (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, plus device and browser details) so we can find and fix problems.
• Feedback you give on previews, such as a thumbs up or down.

• To create your previews and portraits, and to check that uploaded photos are suitable.
• To process payments, make and ship canvas prints, unlock digital files, and handle refunds and support requests.
• To keep your previews and orders available when you come back.
• If you joined our list, to send you news about new styles and offers. Every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
• To measure site traffic and advertising, prevent misuse, and improve the service.

We don't use your photos to train AI models, and we don't use them in marketing without your permission.

We share information only with service providers who help us run the site, and only what they need:

• AI image providers (such as Google and OpenAI), which receive your photo and style instructions to generate and check portraits.
• Stripe, which processes payments.
• Microsoft Clarity, which collects the usage information described above on our behalf. Microsoft's privacy statement explains how it handles that data.
• Our hosting, database and file storage providers, which store the site's data.
• Print and delivery partners and carriers, which receive your portrait, name and shipping address to make and deliver your canvas.
• Our email tool, if you joined our list.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or others' safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the business.

We store a visitor ID in your browser's local storage so the site remembers your previews, credits and orders. Microsoft Clarity sets cookies to group your page views into visits for the usage analytics described above, and our sign-in and payment providers set cookies needed for them to work (Stripe sets its own on its checkout page). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without the Clarity cookies. If you clear your browser storage, the site will no longer recognise you and you may lose access to your previews and credits.

We keep photos and portraits so you can come back and order later, until you ask us to delete them. We keep order and payment records for as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Usage records are kept to compare traffic over time.

• Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@instantroyal.com. Include your order number or the email you used so we can find your records.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing us.
• Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict certain uses. We'll respond to requests within the time the law requires and won't treat you differently for making one.

The site is not meant for children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. Parents and guardians may upload photos of their own children to create portraits. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, such as encrypted connections and private file storage, but no system is perfectly secure. We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
